First Circuit’s Ruling in Franchina v. City of Providence Underscores the Consequences of Failing To Act Promptly To Correct Workplace Harassment

This case presents a textbook example of how not to respond to harassment allegations when they are presented to an employer. Not surprisingly, the employer’s failure here to take remedial action resulted in substantial monetary liability.
